How do you prove you own a private key without ever revealing it to the public network?

Through Digital Signatures (ECDSA).

✒️ Signing & Verification

  1. Signing: You hash the transaction data ($m$) and use your Private Key ($k$) to produce a signature pair $(r, s)$.
  2. Verification: Anyone with your Public Key ($K$), the transaction hash ($m$), and signature $(r, s)$ can verify mathematically that the signature was created by the corresponding private key.

This ensures transactions cannot be forged or altered in transit!

🧠 Today's Key Takeaway

  • ECDSA signatures prove authorization without exposing private keys.
  • Prevents transaction tampering and guarantees non-repudiation.
